Professor Elinda F. Kiss’ primary areas of research include Bank Regulation, Finance and Banking Crises and Fixed Income Securities. She teaches Corporate Finance, Banking, Business Finance and International Finance. Prior to teaching at the Smith School Professor Kiss has served as Associate Professor in the Departments of Finance and Accounting at Rutgers University and as Assistant Professor or Lecturer at the Wharton School, Wellesley College, and Temple University.

She has extensive corporate experience, having worked at several banks (First Pennsylvania Bank, PSFS, City Federal Savings), investment banks (Citicorp Investment Bank) and US government bank regulatory agencies (Resolutions Trust Corporation and Federal Reserve). She was Treasurer of a manufacturing firm. Professor Kiss served on the boards of directors of the Financial Management Association and the National Association for Business Economics.

Professor Kiss has received several teaching and service awards, including the Allen J. Krowe teaching excellence award. She also was the recipient of the Joseph M. Wikler award for teaching excellence in Finance. Dr. Kiss is a top 15 percent professor, a Distinguished Faculty Partner to the Office of Career Services and was selected as a Philip Merrill mentor. She serves as the faculty advisor for the Smith Finance Group and is the Faculty champion for Banking Fellows.
